With Canada Park’s Day coming up on July 21st, we wanted to highlight an organization in our own backyard that is heavily involved in keeping our parks beautiful and accessible. The Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS) is Canada’s voice for public wilderness protection.
The Ottawa Valley Chapter of CPAWS works to protecting public lands in the National Capital Region and surrounding areas. Established in 1970, CPAWS has had a number of campaigns led by committee to work with local, provincial, and federal government, industry leaders, and other environmental groups to find solutions to conservation issues and provide input for government plans for local public land.
