Enrich the lives of others! The Ottawa Rotary Home provides respite care for children, teens and adults with physical disabilities and/ or complex medical needs in a homelike environment. Volunteers enrich the lives of the clients by creating opportunities for recreation and socialization. Outside the Rotary home, the following volunteer opportunities are available: Outing Support Volunteer and Children’s Outing Volunteer. Inside, they need an Organizer/Cleaner. Can you spare an hour or two? The Kanata Food Cupboard functions as a non-profit, volunteer driven organization. The organization works for the best interest of its members and clients by collecting and distributing food products to self-identifying individuals requiring emergency food service. We are looking for a volunteer to take prepared garbage (i.e. garbage can, recycle bins, broken cardboard boxes) from our Warehouse location (2 The Parkway (corner of Teron Road), Kanata) to the curb every Tuesday just before 9:00a.m. for garbage day. Striving together! The Alive to Strive Kidney Fitness Project is a non-profit organization committed to education, prevention and public awareness on the issue of chronic kidney disease as well as operating a fitness grant program benefiting those living with chronic kidney disease. Sunday, April 28, 2013, the Alive to Strive Race is a day filled with activities including a 1 km walk, a 5 km walk/run, a 5 km team challenge and a 10 km race. We are seeking volunteers to help with the following tasks: Runners’ security in the event area, Floaters, Tent Set-up/Tear-down, and Event Tear-down. Alive To Strive

A chance to meet gentle animals! Constance Creek Wildlife Refuge provides rehabilitation care to injured and orphaned wild animals so they can be released back into the wild, provides public education on living in harmony with wildlife and advocates on behalf of wildlife. We are currently seeking volunteers who can help get hay to farm sanctuary animals this winter. Do you have a truck and trailer to help us transport loads of hay from Monkland to our farm in Dunrobin. Loads are needed around February 2nd and February 23rd. The great outdoors! The Tucker House Renewal Centre is a charitable retreat and environmental learning centre that promotes sustainable living. We have an opportunity for a volunteer Coordinator for the Green Design Tour at the Tucker House and Renewal Center. We are seeking an individual experience in and/or desiring to learn design and implementation of educational workshops for children, and adults.
