On June 6, 2013 a group of volunteers received Ontario Volunteer Service Awards. Following a special announcement by the Honourable Michael Coteau, Ontario Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, they were honoured in a ceremony to congratulate and thank them for their years of service. Each volunteer received a lovely pin and certificate.
Collectively, this group has donated 3,997 years of volunteer service, ranging between 5-60 years per volunteer. Volunteers represented ranged from youth to seniors. Awards were also presented to a group of youth who have chosen to become involved in their own community.
Several organizations, including a number of Volunteer Ottawa member organizations, took time to nominate volunteers. Volunteer Ottawa would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of some of our member organizations who nominated volunteers to receive this prestigious award. In doing so, they demonstrated how much they value their volunteers. You have set a fine example.
